Tanmay Jaywant Indulkar, a student at VIT, is pursuing an MBA with a specialisation in Tourism and Hospitality Management at VIT's Geelong campus. He recently shared his reflections on his first semester guided by Professor Dr Ali Abusalem. Tanmay found the Strategic Marketing, and Logistics and the Supply Chain Management units transformative. Dr Ali's teaching style, which blends theory with practical examples, greatly helped Tanmay understand complex concepts. The interactive classes and mentorship also enriched Tanmay's learning, preparing him eagerly for the upcoming semester to build on his newfound knowledge and skills.

This is what he has to say about his first-semester experience at VIT:

The first semester of my MBA program, under the guidance of Professor Dr Ali Abusalem, has been a transformative journey, particularly in the realms of Strategic Marketing, and Logistics & Supply Chain Management. Dr Ali's expertise and teaching methodology have significantly enhanced my understanding and appreciation of these critical business domains.

In the Strategic Marketing unit, Dr Ali emphasized the importance of aligning marketing strategies with broader business objectives. Through a combination of theoretical frameworks and practical case studies like TASSAL, we explored the intricacies of market segmentation, positioning, and competitive analysis. Dr Ali's ability to distil complex concepts into actionable insights was particularly valuable. His interactive lectures and encouragement of class discussions fostered a collaborative learning environment where diverse perspectives were shared and debated. This not only deepened my understanding of strategic marketing principles but also honed my analytical and critical thinking skills.

The Logistics & Supply Chain Management course was equally enriching. Dr Ali's approach to teaching this subject was comprehensive, covering both the macro and micro aspects of supply chain operations. We delved into topics such as procurement, inventory management, distribution strategies, and the impact of technology on supply chain efficiency. Dr Ali’s use of real-world examples and case studies from various industries provided practical insights into the challenges and best practices in supply chain management. His focus on the integration of information systems within supply chain operations was particularly enlightening, highlighting the role of technology in optimizing logistics processes and improving overall business performance.

Dr Ali's commitment to student learning extended beyond the classroom. His availability for consultation and willingness to provide personalized feedback was instrumental in my academic growth. His mentorship has not only equipped me with a solid foundation in strategic marketing and supply chain management but has also inspired me to apply these principles in real-world scenarios.

In conclusion, Professor Dr Ali's teaching has been a pivotal component of my MBA experience. His expertise, pedagogical approach, and dedication to student success have profoundly impacted my academic journey. I am grateful for the knowledge and skills I have acquired under his tutelage and look forward to applying these insights in my professional endeavours.

Sincere Thanks,
